For the second week now, I have been observing the cost of 1 kg of potatoes at the level of 4 BYN ($1.3) on the shelves of a retail chain in the Republic of Belarus. Compared to yesterday (1.3 BYN), the price increased 3 times. The local farmers have not even reacted to this seemingly good news for them yet.
According to some news outlets, the KGC is already dealing with this issue. The attempt to release prices did not seem to imply such a jump, especially for what is usually a lot in the Republic of Belarus.
I would like to note that the share of imports in the cost of this national product is almost zero.
It seems that the inflationary spiral is starting to unwind, and the currency has no side effect here. Only the parity of the state price had to be released.
